Our volunteers are essential to the station. Indeed, what good would a public access station be if the public doesn't access it?!

As MCTV has grown, we have worked hard to make the station more accessible to anyone who wants to become involved. The programs noted on this page are all intended to help you become a part of the station.

MCTV volunteers come from all walks of life. They are your friends and neighbors. They have a wide variety of interests and talents.

Some of the things that they do for the station are:

  • assist with special event coverage
  • camera work at Avalon concerts
  • voice-over announcements
  • offer technical assistance
  • videotape lecture series
  • appear on-camera

New Volunteer Opportunity at MCTV

We’re looking for people willing to form small volunteer teams to take MCTV to local events.
Although each team would require at least one trained camera operator, there is ample opportunity for non-technical help as well.
Each team will man an MCTV booth, set up as a field studio where people can participate by going on-camera to give their answer to the “Question of the Day”-which will relate to the event. These taped segments will be used as short programs called “MCTV Was There” to air the week following the event.

Each team of 2 or 3 volunteers will include:
1. a lead techie
2. a floor manager
3. an assistant techie

All 2/3 must be willing & able to talk enthusiastically about MCTV with the aid of visuals and handouts provided by the station.

If you are interested, let us know so we can begin training and booking teams for upcoming events!
