The 1857 Section Foreman Guest House, built in 1857 by the Virginia & Tennessee Railroad and located in the historic district of Abingdon, Virginia, is one of the few surviving railroad houses available for nightly rental. A furnished house with fully equipped kitchen allowing self-catering, it is located convenient to historic, cultural, and entertainment venues in southwest Virginia and east Tennessee. The train tracks, and Norfolk Southern trains, can be viewed from every room of the house, and from an adjacent footbridge crossing over the tracks.
