Rooms comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. The tracks are on the other side of a wooden fence. The tracks appear to be visible only from the 2nd floor. I think you will only see the tops of trains if you are on the first floor. Also, there is a row of trees on the other side of the fence. This time of year the view was good. I think during the 'tree season' the view will be non existant
The tracks are only about 50ft away. There is a grade crossing a couple of blocks away, so trains pass by the room with their horns blaring. Train frequency was 1 every hour or so (On the Saturday night that we were there) but when they went by YOU KNEW IT!!! Also there is a westbound grade, so trains were really working. In a nutshell, the place is nice, puts you right trackside, don't expect to sleep too much, and definitely go during winter months.
