The New London Reservoir Park sits right next to the CSX Greenwich Sub (NYC "Big Four" line) and about 5 miles from the CSX New Castle Sub (B&O mainline from Pittsburgh to Chicago).
This particular line can get very busy at times, and with a railroad radio tuned in you can keep tabs on all the action. There's also swimming in the reservoir and some decent restaurants in the town of New London. A great getaway to a relaxing, yet exciting, train watching spot."
As Jeff Knorek's Site depicts, you can get one of a handful of campsites in the "rear" of the campground, pitch a tent or jungle hammock, and watch trains pass about 100 yards away as you sit by the campfire and sip a cup of coffee.
