This is a small (6 unit), very clean motel adjacent to the Guilford (ex Maine Central) main line at the west end of Rumford Junction siding. There are no views of the tracks from the room, because the motel is shielded from the tracks by a row of trees. It is easy to hear a train coming, walk out to the adjacent road bridge, and watch it pass beneath you. Meets are common in this location as well.
This location is close to the center of rail activity in central Maine. Both Danville Junction (interchange between Guilford and the St Lawrence & Atlantic) and Lewiston Junction (galactic headquarters and engine house for the St Lawrence & Atlantic) are a 5 minute drive away.
