My wife and I stayed at the Comfort Inn on Poyntz last Saturday night. The motel is about
30 feet from the old KP line through Manhattan. The management has a notice posted at the
desk about the trains running on the south side of the motel and the potential noise level.
Be prepared to argue about getting a room on the south side. I asked for one, was given
one on the north, and spent 30 minutes arguing with the desk clerk and the manager on duty
about moving across the hall. They would not accede to my wishes.

There are 4 or 5 other motels on Poyntz, but they are on the north side of the street and
the buildings run north-south which means you can hardly see the tracks from any of the
rooms. Submitted By: Bob Leeka 2.12.02

It must be a noisy one, about 5-10 feet from tracks, maybe 100-200 from where
it spurs to about 5-6 tracks...right on the kp line for up.
