A high-rise hotel with certain rooms facing tracks. The tracks lie across I-4 from hotel, a grade crossing of Colonial Drive can be seen from some rooms on east side, but there are no real photo opportunities from room. The web site quotes rack rate of $90/night, but you can always get them down to $60-75 with various discount plans or even dickering if they are not busy.

On a recent trip to Orlando Florida I lucked up on a very nice motel, reasonably priced, with a good view of the CSX mainline that also hosts Amtrak trains. It is the Holiday Inn-Downtown on Colonial Drive. There is a very nice restaurant adjacent to the motel and it is in a good part of town. Also close to the arena where the NBA basketball team Orlando Magic play. Rooms face to the north and south. My room faced south and afforded a good view of the CSX mainline. I can't say for rooms facing north. The motel is about 15 stories and you would want to be in at least the 5th floor or higher as the Interstate would block your view if you were any lower. The motel is also close to the Orlando and Winter Park Amtrak stations.

In downtown Orlando, there's also the Marriott Hotel which sits right at the switch between Florida Central Railroad and CSX. I know they are very accomodating to folks who used to ride the train from Orlando to Mount Dora and you can see both from the hotel on the South side of the Building.

I was in the Orlando Fl. area and I stayed at the Radission Plaza Hotel. I was in Rm. 904 over looking the swimming pool. At the height, you can see the CSX main line to Miami. Amtrak's train No's. 97 and 98 Southbound, Northbound Silver Meteor, Southbound passes about 4:00 PM, Northbound passes about 1:00 PM. Train No's. 91 and 92 Southbound, Northbound Silver Star, Southbound passes about 11:30 AM, Northbound passes about 4:35 PM. Eastbound Sunset Limited Train NO. 1 from Los Angeles passes between 8:30 and 9:00 PM. Westbound Train NO. 2 passes between 9:00 AND 10:00 PM. (if they are on time). As for CSX, there's about six, three during the morning and three in the evening, Mixed freight, Piggy back and two coal trains.
