The rooms here do not afford a clear view of the tracks, yet lie smack next to the CSX Miami subdivision. You can run out your door and maybe into the parking lot to catch a train, although foliage partially obstructs the view for photographers; the view on the sidewalk at Oakland Park Blvd right out in front of the hotel is excellent. The room runs about $59.00 / night, plus tax, it's in a heavily trafficked area right off I-95 and that area has its share of petty trouble; you won't get bopped in the head and robbed if you stay aware of your surroundings.

Next to the Red Roof Inn and Waffle House; backs up to tracks. Rear rooms have good views of tracks; those on floors 4 and 5 have excellent views right down on the tracks less than 100 feet away.
As of early February 2005 this place just can't seem to get its act together and hasn't for almost a year. They still have "pardon our dust" signs all over the place, no Internet Yellow Pages listing, no rate information on their web site, and newspaper covering a number of windows on the first floor rooms (all rooms are accessed via outdoor walkways).
The photos on the web site of luxurious swimming pools are fabricated, since I just drove by there and these are still under construction and do not butt up against the building; rather they are set away from the building to allow parking. This Red Roof Inn sits on the west side of the tracks just south of Commercial Blvd and right next to Waffle House. Upper level rooms in the rear have an almost-clear view down onto the tracks with some minor foliage obstruction.
