As you can see there are two very different reports about this hotel.
I Live in Redlands, CA and the motel listed in your guide for Redlands, Ca is on a seldom used branch line ( maybe 1 train a week with a couple of grain cars). Metrolink the commuter line is scheduled to reach Redlands, but thats a few years away. So I would hate for a serious railfan to plan a trip to this motel and be disappointed.

I recently stayed at the Good Nite Inn in Redlands, CA, it was backed up to the BNSF (??) mainline right near a relatively active switch. No grand vistas in the background as this is urban/suburban residential/industrial but trains none the less. The hotel itself was much less then spectacular, as we had problems getting extra towels and being locked out by the errant electronic lock system but it was clean and comfortable. The tracks are on the south side of the property which none of the rooms face, but the parking lot and 2nd story walkways are good for shots.
