Stayed at a nice place in Dunsmuir, CA right across the street from the old mallet shed. There are two rooms on the front side of the place above the bar have a terrific view of the action. Place looks like a dump from the outside, but is clean on the inside. Price for us was $30.00 each (2 rooms). Normal rate is $50.00 for one and includes breakfast. Certainly better than any of the other places we saw in town (as far as viewing trains go). I was able to shoot some pre-sunrise video without getting out of bed!
