Located right there on Route 66, 'across the street' is the BNSF transcon main line. Of course, this is but one of many motels in Flagstaff located along this route, as they are literally one right after another for maybe a mile or more, making it just one of many that could be considered to be railfan-worthy with room views of the mainline right outside. Busy mainline BNSF freight traffic is mixed with the occasional Amtrak visitor. Trains are frequent, fast, long, and LOUD, day and night (just ask my Fiancée!!!). There is no nighttime restriction on horn-blowing across the frequent grade-crossings thru the town; even the front desk of the motel had a sign informing guests that they should be aware that while 'train buffs' will probably enjoy the trains, there is nothing the motel could do but apologize to others for any discomfort the night-and-day horns and rumble of the trains may cause. Motels in other parts of Flagstaff, further away from the tracks, make a point of stating on their signs and marquees, "No train noise!!!"
On the right is the motel office and a small wing with some rooms, they provide a slightly different perspective of the mainline than do the rooms in the part of the motel we stayed in. Rooms on the ground level are probably not the best for train watchers, due to parked cars, trees, and street traffic. It is for this reason that I only give it a 'B' rating. Note that in the photo, had I waited one second longer and the train moved forward a bit further, you would have seen it above the roof line of the motel office due to the angle of the track vs. the slope of the motel roof; so the visibility of the train is greater for longer than it might appear in these limited photos.

I was just there in January, and it's suite is great for trains. The suite has three double bed, and two rooms. Three or four windows face the BNSF tracks. It's kinda loud there, there is a crossing within 200 yards to the SW. I really liked it, and I'll stay there again.

Ask for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor in the rear of the motel, nice view of the BNSF main line.

Just paid a visit to your website. AWESOME! After being at this hotel and having most guests unhappy with the trains, which now run over 80 per day, it is great to see a site for people who like trains.

Located on the BNSF Chicago to Los Angeles double track main line, this 5 floor hotel is a HOTSPOT with more than 60 trains on the average day. When booking a room, ask for NORTH facing room on the 3rd floor or above. The view is great, at least 1/2 mile of track can be seen including the signals that guard the crossovers.

I was very disappointed with this motel, had a two room suite which was in desperate need of repair (most of the upper level of which this room was a part is undergoing renovation). Trees in front of the room were so overgrown that the view of the tracks was obscured, most of the rooms have obstructed view of the railroad, if you are content to watch from the parking lot of the upper level you would be happy at this location.

The motel is on the hill side and has two sets of rooms. I stayed in a room on the lower level. I would recommend the second floor of the lower or any of the upper set of rooms. The tracks of the BNSF is just across the street. As you eat your free breakfast you can watch the trains go by. The rates are good too. We stayed of a week and the weekly rate was $199. It is not the newest on the street but it is clean and in good shape. AAA gives it 2 diamonds. I would go there tomorrow if I had the chance!

2 blocks from AMTK depot. Right by road crossing, BNSF whistles knock you out of bed. Cheap old Route '66 type' motel. On the Santa Fe Ave. [street] side, yes. Tracks are right across Santa Fe Ave. Most rooms are in the back, however. Bring earplugs if you ask for a front room.
