I stayed there the end of August 2000. It's modern and clean and the owner, Les, is a knowledgeable railfan. It is located across the street from the coach yard and main line of the White Pass & Yukon narrow gauge railroad. Switching, to make up the day's trains, starts about 6:00a or 7:00a. Several trains a day (pulled by diesels) run from Skagway, past the motel, starting a little after 8:00a. They return in the afternoon. A steam train runs on Saturday.

Across the street to the north is the White Pass's shops. Across the street to the south is the Siding 21 Restaurant which is a replica of the Whitehorse, YT depot, and is decorated with railroad memorabilia. The restaurant windows face the tracks.
