This motel delivered! Get the right room, and it's as if you have a four-track-main railroad show without leaving your room! Action was non-stop, 24 hours. There were lulls, but they were short.
There are probably 10-12 rooms with a trackside view, in a hotel with 200+ rooms. We stayed in Room 259. The optimal place to stay is in rooms 259, 261 or 263, or on the third floor above these rooms. The hotel looks like an "L" from the sky, with check-in at the very top of the "L". Our room was at the very bottom right of the "L". If you don't get a room in this particular location, you won't see the tracks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Easy photography right from the room, or the Commuter Rail (CP) /VIA (CN) platforms are steps away.
We called the hotel directly and identified ourselves as railfans. If you call during normal business hours you'll get someone in their main office, and may receive a discount on your rate and free continental breakfast. (We did.)
One minor inconvenience - these are single rooms, with either one queen or king size bed. There were three of us. The hotel supplied a cot at no charge (normally $10 I believe), and our third brought an air mattress. We did a little creative rearranging of furniture and were good to go. Very quiet - it's next to an airport so the soundproofing is to the max.
