Federal government assesses $2 for DigitalVoice service

Beginning with the June 2009 bill, EastonOnline's DigitalVoice customers will be assessed $2 per line, monthly, to support the federal government's Universal Service Fund.  The Universal Service Fund helps provide communities across the country with affordable telecommunications services.  Its programs offset the high cost of service in rural areas, provide reduced rates to rural health care provider for telecom and Internet service, support low-income customers and offer discounts to schools and libraries. EastonOnline is required by the Federal Communications Commission to collect this fee and remit it to the Universal Service Administrative Company.
