I've forgotten my email password...
A. It's the same password that you use for dialup access, and a quick call to the Helpdesk can resolve this problem.

How do I get an email address?

A. By registering to use Easton OnLine for dialup access, you automatically receive two free email accounts in the form "yourname@goeaston.net"

This email is delivered to a "POP3" account which you can download into the email program of your choice, e.g., Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape, etc.

By visiting http://mail2.goeaston.net/mail you may also access your free account from Easton OnLine in the form "Webmail". This is like a Hotmail or Yahoo account, i.e. you can access it online from any PC, anywhere, anytime, and also use it to receive your emails from your goeaston.net address online, whilst leaving them safe on the POP3 server to download later to your home PC.

Can I configure my email account manually?
A. Yes - for Outlook Express, select Tools, Accounts, Add, Mail. Call the account Easton OnLine. Enter your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing emails. The incoming mail server is pop.goeaston.net and the outgoing server is smtp.goeaston.net

Your user name is the first portion of your email address (i.e. yourname@goeaston.net the username is the first portion in this case “yourname”) and password as per your choice on signup. (lower case)

Can I use an email program other than Outlook Express?
A. Yes - you may use any email client that can download from a POP3 mail server, ie. Eudora, Outlook Express, Outlook 97.98 or 2000, etc.

Incoming mail server is pop.goeaston.net
Outgoing mail server is smtp.goeaston.net

Your user name is the first portion of your email address (ie. yourname@goeaston.net the username is the first portion in this case “yourname”) and password as per your choice on signup.

I'm having problems connecting to download my email

A. If you are able to connect to the Internet (ie. to browse websites) then the problem is probably to do with the setup of your email account details in Outlook Express.

Select Tools, Accounts, and check that everything is setup as follows:

Phone number: 0845 0798052
Your user name is the first portion of your email address (ie. yourname@goeaston.net the username is the first portion in this case “yourname”) and password as per your choice on signup.

(If you've forgotten your password, or are still having problems accessing your email, then you can cal Easton OnLine at 410-763-9400 or 1-877-763-9400

Can I access my goeaston.net emails online?

A. Yes - simply by visiting

http://mail2.goeaston.net/mail
Enter your username and your password, and Check Mail. You will then see an online mailbox, with your emails since you last downloaded, enabling you to read and send emails.

As long as you don't delete emails, they will also still be available to subsequently download as normal to your usual PC.

This facility allows you to access your Easton OnLine email account from any PC with an Internet connection, anywhere in the world.

Can I still access my other email accounts?
A. Yes - if you have existing email accounts then you should still be able to download them using your Easton OnLine dialup connection. What you may discover is that some email providers will not allow you to SEND mail using their SMTP server if you are not connecting via their dialup. You can get round this easily, i.e. send email from another address by setting that address as the "sent from" address in the Account Options (Tools from Outlook Express main menu) and using the SMTP server with your Easton OnLine account.

We do recommend that you notify everyone in your address book of your new Easton OnLine address, and as emails continue to arrive at your old address, simply send a reminder when you reply to use your new address, and then when you are happy that everyone has noted your new address, i.e. No more email is arriving at the old one, you can then close the old one.

I want to use my new address, but everyone will continue using my old one

Tip: To send an email to everyone in your address book notifying them of your new address, put all the names in the "BCC" field, and your new address in the "To" field. That way, the emails will not display your entire address book to each recipient!

Can I have more than two email addresses?
A. Yes! Whilst some ISP's restrict you to up to 5 addresses, Easton OnLine allows you UNLIMITED email addresses. For a nominal charge per Mailbox.

To obtain extra addresses, simply register for the address(es) of your choice in the same way that you signed up originally, i.e. by contacting us at 410-763-9400 or 1-877-763-9400.

There is no need to dialup separately to download each address that you set up; you can use your existing dialup connection and simply add each new address as a new Account in Outlook (see the question on adding accounts manually).
